Three Little Sisters of the Poor who have roots in the Archdiocese of Louisville returned to Kentucky to celebrate their 50th jubilees. The three professed vows in 1968.
The jubilee Mass was held at the Little Sisters of the Poor chapel, 15 Audubon Plaza Drive, on Oct. 13. Dominican Father Edward Gorman, pastor of St. Louis Bertrand Church, presided at the Mass.
Mother Judith Meredith, who serves at Sacred Heart Home in Mobile, Ala., and Mother Mary Sylvia Karl, who resides at St. Paul’s Home in Cincinnati, Oh., attended the former St. Columba Church. Sister Mildred Ryan, who lives at St. Mary’s Home in Chicago, attended St. Stephen Martyr Church.
The Little Sisters of the Poor will celebrate 150 years of service in Louisville in 2019.
