Teachers share lessons on art and empathy

Record Staff Report

Two Archdiocese of Louisville art teachers, Laura Dant of St. Agnes School and Carey Given of Holy Trinity School, were selected to give a presentation at the 2019 National Art Education Association’s national convention in Boston March 14-16.

The duo spoke on the topic “Engaging Empathy and Awareness Through Art.”

According to an announcement about their presentation, the teachers aimed “to share best practice ideas that transform everyday lessons into opportunities for teaching younger students to develop empathy and social awareness, allowing them to be better global citizens.”
