‘Swashbuckler’s Ball’ will help St. Mary’s Center

The ninth annual Swashbuckler’s Ball — the main fundraising event for St. Mary’s Center, Inc., — will be held Jan. 25 at the Marriott Louisville East.

The ball will begin at 6:30 p.m. and benefits St. Mary’s Center, a non-profit, non-denominational organization that serves teens and adults with intellectual disabilities.

The pirate-themed Swashbuckler’s Ball will feature reggae music by Dem Reggae Bon, celebrities and photos, gourmet plated dinner, dancing to music by Craig Stephens Sounds and chances to win prizes along with silent and live auctions.

Pottery pieces made by St. Mary’s participants will be on display. The emcee for the evening is Dawne Gee of WAVE-TV, and WAVE’s meteorologist Kevin Harned will serve as the event’s auctioneer.

St. Mary’s Center is located in Middletown and currently serves more than 150 families. Registration is available at www.saintmaryscenter.org. Tickets are $125 per person or the Pirate’s After Dinner Party is $75 per person and begins at 8:30 p.m.
