St. Xavier High School will present its 2016 Outstanding Alumnus Award to Dr. William J. Godfrey III during the school’s commencement exercises May 22 at Broadbent Arena, 937 Phillips Lane.
Godfrey, a 1955 graduate, is a physician in private practice in Elizabethtown, Ky. He served in the U.S. Navy and he has practiced at Hardin Memorial Hospital for more than 40 years. He is a member of St. James Church in Elizabethtown, where he serves as a eucharistic minister and on the respect life and adoration committees.
“Throughout his life, Dr. William Godfrey has dedicated himself to his faith, his family and the betterment of his community,” said a statement from St. Xavier. “As a medical professional, Dr. Godfrey has demonstrated a wholehearted commitment to the well-being of his neighbors.”
