St. Vincent de Paul welcomes diners and
volunteers back to Open Hand Kitchen

St. Vincent de Paul Louisville announced that its Open Hand Kitchen, which serves daily lunch and dinner to homeless individuals, will re-open July 1 at 11 a.m.

In March 2020, due to the pandemic, the Open Hand Kitchen, located at 1026 S. Jackson St., transitioned to take-out dining. The kitchen served two meals daily, but clients could not sit and eat in the dining room.

“With our Open Hand Kitchen open to the public once again, diners no longer need to take shelter from the elements and can find a brief respite while they eat lunch or dinner,” said a press release from St. Vincent de Paul.

The organization is also welcoming its volunteers back. “We have missed seeing our dedicated volunteers and we know they have missed the opportunity to serve,” said the release.
