St. Margaret Mary teams win Quick Recall championships

St. Margaret Mary School teams dominated the Catholic Schools Academic League’s season-ending Quick Recall tournaments in early November.

The school’s red team defeated St. Agnes School (blue team) 27-17 in the sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade Quick Recall tournament, held Nov. 7 at St. Andrew Academy. Semi-finalists in that tournament also included St. Michael School and St. Albert the Great School (blue team).

Thirty-six teams from 28 schools competed in the league this season.

In the sixth-grade Quick Recall tournament, held Nov. 4 at St. Agnes School, St. Margaret Mary (black team) defeated St. Raphael School (white team) in the final match 26-11. The other semifinalists were St. Patrick School (blue team) and St. Albert (blue team). St. Margaret Mary (black team) had an undefeated season.

Thirty teams from 23 schools participated in this league.

St. Margaret Mary also won the fourth- and fifth-grade Quick Recall tournament earlier this year.

The Catholic School Academic League is in its 24th year of coordinating quick recall matches during regular season and tournament play for Louisville-area schools.
