St. Margaret Mary to offer divorce and grief support groups

St. Margaret Mary Church will offer two programs aimed to help families who have experienced divorce, as well as a grief support group.

DivorceCare, a seminar and support group, will meet on Tuesdays this spring.

The 14-session program will begin Feb. 6 and will meet weekly each Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church, 7813 Shelbyville Rd. The program is faith-based and will include informational videos and small-group discussion. The cost to participate is $15.

The parish will also host DivorceCare for Kids, DC4K, where children “will learn to understand their feelings, express their emotions appropriately, feel better about themselves and develop coping skills,” a news release said. DC4K will meet at the same time as the DivorceCare program. The cost is $25 for supplies.

Grief and Grace, a program for individuals who have lost loved ones, will be held on Sundays from 3:30 p.m. to 4:50 p.m. beginning Jan. 28 and continuing until April 1 or Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. beginning Feb. 1 and continuing until April 5.

The suggested cost is $10. To register for any of these programs, call Denise Ruiz at 426-1588, ext. 126, or email at druiz@stmm.org.
