St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Ky., is celebrating its 175th anniversary this year with a variety of events.
The Hardin County parish will mark the occasion on July 25, the feast of St. James, with a special Mass at 5 p.m. A reception will follow in Batcheldor Hall.
Beginning July 16, parishioners will take part in a novena leading up to the feast day. The novena will provide an opportunity for prayer and veneration of a relic of St. James.
The parish is also celebrating with days of service, presentations, exhibits of historical items and more. The parish’s Aug. 22 picnic will include proclamations and recognitions related to the anniversary. For more information about the parish community, visit stjames-etown.org/.
