St. Catharine College will award 169 degrees

St. Catharine College in Springfield, Ky., will confer 169 degrees during commencement exercises at the school’s Lourdes Hall on May 9 at 11 a.m.

Among degrees to be awarded are 59 associate degrees, 95 bachelor’s degrees, 15 master’s degrees and two certificates, according to an announcement from the school.

The commencement speaker will be Madeline Abramson, wife of Jerry Abramson, former Kentucky lieutenant governor.

She serves as chair of the Kentucky Commission on Women, the Red Cross Regional Volunteer Services Advisory Committee and the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts board.

William D. Huston, St. Catharine’s president, said in the announcement, “She will be inspirational and send a message to our graduates that they will build upon as they begin their professional careers.”

Huston announced in February that he plans to retire in June.
