Sr. Rebecca Rodenbaugh, an SCN, dies at age 100

SCNLogo2015Sister of Charity of Nazareth Rebecca Rodenbaugh died May 15 at Nazareth Home. She was 100-years-old and was in her 79th year of religious life.

Sister Rodenbaugh, a native of Tutwiler, Miss., served as a home economics teacher in Arkansas, Massachusetts, Ohio, Tennessee and Kentucky.

In Louisville, Sister Rodenbaugh taught at the old St. Cecilia and Sacred Heart schools. She also taught at Presentation Academy from 1976 to 1984. In 1964 she won a national contest for one of her home economics classes. The prize was a trip to Europe.

She also served in social services in Virginia.

Sister Rodenbaugh is survived by her nieces and nephews and members of her religious community.

Visitation will be May 17 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:50 a.m.
Burial will be in Nazareth Cemetery.
