Spalding will name its natural sciences building in honor of Kosair Charities

At a press conference May 31, Spalding University announced its health sciences building will be named the Kosair Charities College of Health and Natural Sciences. A news release from the schools said the new name honors the Kosair Charities’ “continued support of Spalding’s outreach and history of educating health practitioners.”

Earlier this year, Kosair Charities gave a $3.3 million donation to the university. The release said the donation will enhance the health and natural science education program. Additionally a scholarship will be awarded annually to a child to attend a weeklong experiential technology experience through Kosair Innovative Technology Experience (KITE).

The 50,000-square-foot Kosair Charities College of Health and Natural Sciences building is home to the School of Nursing, the School of Natural Science, the Auerbach School of Occupational Therapy and the Kosair Charities enTECH center, which provides educational opportunities for occupational therapy.
