Sisters of St. Benedict to offer Spanish program

The Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand are offering a program in Spanish called “The Epiphany, 2015,” as part of a Latino family faith formation day on Jan. 3.

The program will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. in St. Gertrude Hall at Monastery Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand, Ind. It will be presented in Spanish and will examine “why the Magi traveled so far, what they said to the child Jesus, and what their message is for us today,” according to a news release.

The event is free. An evening meal will be served and participants are asked to bring a dessert to share. Call 812-639-1711 to register by Dec. 31. The program’s presenter will be Benedictine Sister Joan Scheller who has worked for the past two decades in parish and Hispanic ministry.
