Sister Robert Ann Wheatley, 91, dies in 72nd year of religious life

Ursuline Sister of Mount Saint Joseph Robert Ann Wheatley, 91, died Easter Sunday at Mount Saint Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky. She was in her 72nd year of religious life.

Sister Wheatley was an educator for more than 30 years and ministered at Holy Trinity Convent in Fredericktown from 1945 to 1947. She taught at St. Catherine School in New Haven, Ky., at Holy Cross School in Holy Cross, Ky.,; and at St. Ann School in Howardstown, Ky. She also taught in the Diocese of Owensboro and in Nebraska and New Mexico.

She retired to the Motherhouse in 1993.

Survivors include a brother, Adrian Wheatley of Hawesville, Ky.; several nieces, nephews and cousins, and members of her religious community.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be April 11 at Mount Saint Joseph Chapel, with burial in the convent cemetery. Memorial gifts may take the form of contributions to the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph, 8001 Cummings Road, Maple Mount, Ky. 42356.
