Sister of Mercy Mary Marcia Voll, 97, dies

Sister of Mercy Mary Marcia Voll died April 14 at Mercy Convent in Nashville, Tenn. She was 97 and had been a religious for 74 years.

Sister Voll taught in elementary and high schools in Ohio and Kentucky, including schools in the Archdiocese of Louisville.

Sister Voll served as an archdiocesan school supervisor for 14 years. She also served as an activity director at Mercy Sacred Heart for 10 years.

In retirement, Sister Voll spent 13 years raising funds for the ministries of the Sisters of Mercy in Jamaica.

Sister Voll was the last of eight children in her family. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, their children and her Mercy community.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Raphael Church, Bardstown Road and Lancashire Avenue, on April 20 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Road, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on April 19. A service will begin at 7 p.m.
