Sister of Loretto John Michael Ritchie

Sister of Loretto John Michael Ritchie died May 8 at the Motherhouse Infirmary in Nerinx, Ky. She was 90 and had been a Sister of Loretto for 71 years.

Sister Ritchie was born in Bardstown, Ky., in 1921, as one of eight children. Her parents, George B. and Marie Hagan Ritchie named her Clarice. She was baptized at St. Thomas Church and entered the novitiate from her parish in 1940. She taught first grade for more than four decades in Missouri, Texas, Illinois and Colorado. She retired to the Motherhouse in 1992 and moved to the infirmary in 2002.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated May 14 at Nerinx in the Church of the Seven Dolors. Burial was in the Motherhouse Cemetery.
