Sister of Charity of Nazareth Juanita Marie Wiley dies

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Juanita Marie Wiley, formerly Sister Agnes Charles Willey, died Jan. 25 at Nazareth Home. She was 81 and had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 64 years.

Sister Wiley, a native of Newport News, Va., served as a teacher in elementary, secondary and adult education for 41 years in Maryland, Kentucky, Louisiana and Virginia. In the Arcdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. Gabriel School from 1962 to 1965. She also served in personal family ministry in later years. She lived at the Nazareth Motherhouse in Nazareth, Ky., from 2005 to 2012 and moved to Nazareth Home in October where she served in the Apostolate of Prayer.

Survivors include her cousins and her religious community.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 29 in St. Vincent Church in Nazareth with burial in the motherhouse cemetery.
