Sister of Charity of Nazareth Ann Elizabeth Molony, long-time Kosair volunteer, dies at 89

SCNSister of Charity of Nazareth Ann Elizabeth Molony died at Nazareth Home on May 21. She was 89 and had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 71 years.

Sister Molony, a native of Covington, Ky., served in elementary education in Kentucky, Massachusetts and Maryland for 25 years.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, Sister Molony served at Catholic Charities from 1977 to 1985 as director of the nursery and later as coordinator of the home for young women and their infants.

From 1985 to 1992, she served as nursery supervisor for Children’s Edition, Inc. From 1992-2012 she served as a volunteer assistant at Kosair Children’s Hospital, caring for children with special needs.

She became a resident at Nazareth Home in 2012 where she has served in the Apostolate of Prayer.

Sister Molony is survived by her nieces and nephews and her religious community.

The visitation and wake service will be at 9:30 a.m. at Nazareth Home on May 26, followed by the Funeral Mass. There will be a short prayer service at St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky., at 2:30 p.m. that afternoon, followed by burial in Nazareth Cemetery.
