Sister Michael Anthony Wilson, SCN, dies at 81

SCNLogo2015Sister of Charity of Nazareth Michael Anthony Wilson died at Nazareth Home May 1. She was 81 and had been an SCN for 60 years.

Sister Wilson, a native of Louisville, served as a teacher in Massachusetts and in the Archdiocese of Louisville at St. Patrick, St. Cecilia, St. Gregory in Samuels, Ky., and St. Thomas-St. Vincent Home.

She served in social service ministries in Nashville and at St. George Center in Louisville.

She served the city of Louisville from 1979 to 2003, serving as a coach and director for Metro Parks & Recreation. She also prayed with and attended Mass with friends who cared for the horses on the backside of Churchill Downs.

She is survived by her sisters, Adeline Ketters and Mary Jo Henry, and by her religious community.                        

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 4 at 11 a.m. at Nazareth Home, following visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Nazareth Cemetery, Nazareth, Ky.
