Sister Marie John Kelley, an educator, dies at age 90

SCNLogo2015Sister of Charity of Nazareth Marie John Kelley died at Nazareth Home on May 8. She was 90 and had been a Sister of Charity of Nazareth for 66 years.

Sister Kelley, a native of South Boston, Mass., served as a grade-school teacher in Ohio, Tennessee, Maryland and Massachusetts and as a principal and media specialist at schools in Massachusetts.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews and members of her religious community.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on May 18 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Church on the campus of the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in Nazareth, Ky. Burial will be in Nazareth Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Nazareth Home on May 17 from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. and after 4 p.m. at Nazareth. A prayer service will be May 17 at 6:30 p.m. in St. Vincent.
