Sister Joseph Angela Boone, 90, dies

Ursuline Sister of Mount St. Joseph Joseph Angela Boone, 90, died Nov. 11 at Mount St. Joseph in Maple Mount, Ky. She was in her 71st year of religious life.

Sister Boone, a native of New Haven, Ky., served in education and administration for the Ursuline Sisters and the Diocese of Owensboro.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. Denis School from 1951 to 1959. She served as treasurer and business administrator for the Ursuline Sisters from 1970 to 1989 and then as chancellor and director of administration for the Diocese of Owensboro from 1989 to 2011.

Survivors include the sisters of her religious community; three siblings, Teresa Marie Thompson of New Haven, Anna Catherine Keene of Louisville and Mary Josephine Dworzan of Orange, Calif.; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin Nov. 14 at 1 p.m. (CST) with a wake service following at 6:30 p.m. at Mount St. Joseph. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Nov. 15 at 10:30 a.m.
