Sister of Charity of Nazareth Marian Haney, an educator, dies at 95

RecordLogo-FSister of Charity of Nazareth Marian Haney (formerly Sister Marian Patrick Haney) died Aug. 7 at Nazareth Home. She was 95 and in her 73rd year of religious life.
Sister Haney served for 47 years as an educator in Kentucky, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Ohio and Tennessee.

In the Archdiocese of Louisville, Sister Haney served as principal of St. Elizabeth School. She also served part-time at Presentation Academy and as a staff secretary at Spalding University.

She is survived by her nieces, nephews and members of her religious community.

Visitation will be at Nazareth Home on Aug. 10 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Visitation in St. Vincent Church in Nazareth, Ky., will take place that afternoon after 4 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 6:30 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Aug. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vincent Church. Burial will follow in Nazareth Cemetery.
