Sister Anne Hagedorn dies after 64 years of service

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Anne Hagedorn died Jan. 25 at Nazareth Home. She was 91 and had been an SCN for 64 years.

Sister Hagedorn initially served in education in Ohio, Massachusetts and at Most Blessed Sacrament School in Louisville for a decade.

She went on to earn a degree in business administration, which she used in the businesses offices of St. Joseph Infirmary and Spalding University in Louisville and at hospitals in Missouri, Tennessee and Ohio. She also served as the director of data processing for Nazareth Home from 1983 to 1988 and as the office manager for the SCN Central Regional Office in Louisville.

In retirement, she volunteered at Nazareth Home as an assistant with bookkeeping and accounting from 1991 to 2005.

She is survived by her sisters Mary Egbers, Bess Bruns, Patricia Jurgens and her religious community.

Visitation will be held at St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Ky., on Jan. 30 at 6:30 p.m. A prayer service will be held at Nazareth Home Jan. 30 at 1:30 p.m.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 31 at St. Vincent Church, Nazareth, Ky. Burial will be in Nazareth Cemetery.
