Scooter trip across the state benefits St. Mary’s Center

J. P. Lebangood and Rick Green, owners of NuLu Scooters, have begun a 500-mile trip across Kentucky to raise money for the St. Mary’s Center in Middletown.

According to a release from St. Mary’s, the pair will be following the path of old Kentucky Route 60 from a 1947 Kentucky highway map. The trip from Ashland, Ky., to Cairo, Ill., is expected to take four days.

St. Mary’s Center is a nonprofit agency that has been serving teens with developmental and intellectual disabilities since 1993. This fund-raising event, according to the release, is intended to raise money to help St. Mary’s Center complete work on their new facility at 1730 Otte Road, which they hope to complete by fall of 2013.
