SCN Helen L. Blodgett, a therapist, dies at 71

Sister of Charity of Nazareth Helen L. Blodgett died May 22 in Danbury, Conn. She was 71 and in her 42nd year of religious life.

Sister Blodgett, a native of Danbury, ministered in healthcare and social services in Kentucky, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.

In Kentucky, Sister Blodgett served in pastoral care at Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Hospitals in Louisville. Sister Blodgett served in several social services position in D.C., and Philadelphia. She also served as a therapist at Pennsylvania Hospital.

Sister Blodgett served her religious community as the community service coordinator at the Motherhouse in Nazareth from 1979-1982.

She is survived by her brother John Blodgett, her sisters Ruth Blodgett and Frances Wheeler, several nieces and nephews and members of her religious community.

Sister Blodgett will be buried in St. Peter Cemetery in Danbury and a memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
