Retreat for seniors, workshop for ministers set

Record Staff Report

Adrian Dominican Sister Janet Schaeffler will present two events in late June — a retreat for maturing adults and a workshop for those who minister to them. Both programs will be presented at St. Stephen Martyr Church, 2931 Pindell Avenue, in the Marteen Room.

The first event, “Walking with Maturing Adults in their Unique Years” is designed for parish leaders and others who minister to adults ages 65 years and older.

It will be presented on June 26 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Attendees will discuss ways to affirm, support and engage maturing adults on their spiritual journeys.

The cost of the workshop is $15 and includes a continental breakfast.

The following day, adults age 65 and over are invited to attend “The Best is Yet to Be: A Spirituality for the Maturing Years.”

The June 27 retreat will be held from 9 a.m. to noon, followed by lunch.

According to an announcement about the event, retreatants will explore ways to “deepen the gift you are, enjoy the precious moments you have been given, continue to develop relationships and make the world a more caring place.”

The cost of the retreat is $20 and includes a continental breakfast and lunch.

Those who wish to attend either event should register by contacting Lynn McDaniel at lmcdaniel@archlou.org or 636-0296, ext. 1267. Checks should be made payable to ALMI (the Archdiocese of Louisville Ministry Institute).
