St. Nicholas Academy principal Kathy DeLozier served lunch to kindergartner Henry Fan Oct. 25 at St. Nicholas. The principal of Notre Dame Academy, Bernice Scherr, is pictured second from right preparing a lunch tray. Notre Dame “lost” a friendly competiton with St. Nicholas to see which school could collect the most online votes in the “Give with Target” fundraiser.

Target gave money to schools around the country based on the numbers of online votes cast for each school. St. Nicholas received a check for $1,385 and Notre Dame received $1,325 as a result of voting. Under the competition terms, Scherr had to serve lunch wearing a St. Nicholas T-shirt.

Both principals said the competition helped them at least triple the amount they received over last year’s Target fundraiser.
