Presentation Academy honors alumnae at annual dinner

presentation-logoPresentation Academy honored two alumnae — Betty Cobb Arnett and Maria Kennedy — at its annual Hats Off Alumnae Dinner April 18 at the schools Arts & Athletic Center. Charlotte Knoop Stengel, a 1984 graduate of Presentation, served as a guest speaker at the event.

Arnett, a 1964 graduate of Presentation, received the 2016 Alumna of the Year award. Arnett volunteers in a variety of efforts at the school including: phonathons, Tower Awards for Women Leaders Committee, class of 1964 co-agent, class reunion committees, advancement committee and contributing writer to the school’s newsletter.

Arnett, a member of St. Agnes Church, is also an active member of Queen’s Daughters and a volunteer for Catholic Charities.

Kennedy, a 2007 Presentation alumna, was the recipient of the 2016 Young Alumnae of the Year award. Kennedy received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach English in Vietnam, where she lived for a year. Upon her return, she joined Teach for America. She continues to teach English as a Second Language to children.
