Planning meeting for National Black Catholic Congress set for Aug. 13

The Office of Multicultural Ministry is encouraging parishes to send up to 15 parishioners to attend a planning session on Aug. 13 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in preparation for the National Black Catholic Congress.

Parishes are urged to send two teens, two young adults (up to age 37) and four people who have never attended the National Black Catholic Congress.

Those who plan to attend the national congress, set for July 6 to 9 next year in Orlando, are encouraged to attend.

The theme of the Aug. 13 event is “The Spirit of the Lord is Upon Me: Act justly, love goodness and walk humbly with your God.” It will be held at the Catholic Enrichment Center, 3146 W. Broadway. For more information or to register, call 636-0296, ext. 1245.
