Parishioners thanked for support of retired religious

Representatives of the Retirement Fund for Religious (RFR) offered thanks to the Archdiocese of Louisville in a letter dated April 6 for its support of nearly three decades. The archdiocese holds an annual second collection for the fund.

Parishioners gave $104,757 for retired religious during the Dec. 12 to 13, 2015 collection, the organization reported in the letter. In the last 28 years, parishioners in the archdiocese have donated more than $4.5 million dollars — a total of $4,532,237 — to the collection, the letter said.

The letter reported that more than 33,000 women and men religious currently benefit from the collection.
