Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz has made the following appointments, effective immediately:
Deacon John Froehlich has been appointed administrator pro tempore at Christ the Healer Church in Edmonton, Ky., and Christ the King Church in Tompkinsville, Ky., effective immediately until June 20, 2018.
Deacon Froehlich is married to Helen and they have served at both parishes since his ordination on Aug. 20, 2016
Rev. Jeffrey P. Shooner has been appointed to serve as presbyteral moderator of Christ the Healer Church in Edmonton, Ky., and Christ the King Church in Tompkinsville, Ky.
He continues to serve as pastor of St. Patrick and St. Boniface churches, as well as vicar for priests.
Father Shooner was born in Covington, Ky., and studied at Theological College/Catholic University of America. He was ordained on Dec. 11, 2004, and has served at the following churches: Immaculate Conception in La Grange, Ky.; St. James in Elizabethtown, Ky.; St. Ignatius in White Mills, Ky.; St. Lawrence; Our Lady of Lourdes; St. Albert the Great; Annunciation, Shelbyville, Ky.; and St. John Chrysostom, Eminence, Ky.
