Oktoberfest will be Sept. 20 at St. Joseph Church

The “Original Butchertown Oktoberfest” will be held Sept. 20 at St. Joseph Church, 1406 E. Washington St., from noon to midnight.  It will feature a lineup of what a news release from the parish called “beer, Bach and brats.”

A German Mass will begin at 4 p.m. and will feature members of the Commonwealth Brass Band.

At 6 p.m. there will be music provided by Rick Knoop, music minister and organist at St. Frances of Rome Church, followed at 6:45 p.m. by Dennis O’Donoghue, director of music ministries and organist for St. Michael Church.

At 7:30 p.m., Timothy L. Baker, assistant director of music and organist at Harvey Brown Memorial Presbyterian Church, will provide music.
