Official — Two are appointed pastors

Reverend Peter Bucalo

Reverend Peter Bucalo has been appointed pastor of St. Stephen Martyr Church, effective June 16. This appointment will coincide with the termination of all responsibilities as pastor of Mary Queen of Peace Church.
Father Bucalo, born in New York, was ordained on May 30, 2015. He attended St. Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology in St. Meinrad, Ind.

Father Bucalo has served as pastor of Mary Queen of Peace (and as administrator from June 2017 to June 2018) and as associate pastor of Holy Spirit, Holy Trinity and Holy Name churches.

 

Reverend Harry J. Gelthaus

Reverend Harry J. Gelthaus has been appointed pastor of Mary Queen of Peace, effective June 16. This appointment will coincide with the termination of all responsibilities as pastor of St. Stephen Martyr.

Father Gelthaus, born in Louisville, was ordained on May 25, 1985. He attended St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein, Ill.
He has served as pastor of the following parishes: St. Stephen Martyr, Holy Family, Most Blessed Sacrament (administrator in 2008), Sts. Simon and Jude, St. Clement (administrator, 1994 to 1995) and St. Martin of Tours in Flaherty, Ky. He served as associate pastor of St. Martha and Holy Spirit churches.

He has also served as chaplain for Sacred Heart Academy and co-chaplain for Holy Cross High School.
