New Bible and faith-sharing ministry offered for couples

The Word, a new Bible-based ministry for couples — including those who are married, engaged and seriously dating — will begin June 5 at St. Edward Church, 9608 Sue Helen Drive. It will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

This new ministry of The Family Renewal Project provides an opportunity “for couples to gather and grow in relationship with Christ and with one another through Scripture and faith sharing,” according to an announcement about the ministry.

“We all know of ministries for men, women and children; but outside of ‘marriage prep’ there are very few ministries focused on couples,” the announcement said. “By spending time with each other and The Word, couples will form an even deeper and more intimate union with one another and with God; your experience at holy Mass will be enriched, your faith will grow, and your family will be strengthened.”

Couples are encouraged to participate even if they have no experience with the Bible and Scripture study. The monthly gatherings will be facilitated by Mike and Vickie LaFramboise who have been married for 51 years. Participants will be encouraged to read the Sunday readings each week and bring a Bible if they own one.

Attendance is free and registration is not required. For more information, visit www.familyrenewalproject.com/event/thewordforcouples/.
