RecordLogo-FRecord Staff Report
The Mid-Kentucky Chorus will hold its first event this fall on Oct. 16 in St. Catharine Hall at the St. Catharine Motherhouse of the Dominican Sisters of Peace in Springfield, Ky., at 3 p.m.

For a number of years, the Mid-Kentucky Chorus has been based at the recently-closed St. Catharine College in Springfield. Susan Spalding, executive director of the chorus, said in a statement that “while the chorus had a close association with the college, the chorus is a separate entity and continues to thrive.”

According to the statement, the chorus will continue to be directed by Teresa Tedder.

The October concert will present “sacred songs of joy, peace and the Dominican legacy honoring the 800th anniversary of the founding of the Dominican Order” as an homage to the Dominican Sisters who have offered the use of its St. Catharine Hall, the statement said.

The Mid-Kentucky Chorus also will perform its annual Christmas concert at several locations in the Archdiocese of Louisville in December.

Performances will be held on Dec. 2 and 3 at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, Ky.; Dec. 4 at St. Augustine Church in Lebanon, Ky.; and Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 at St. Catharine Hall in Springfield.
