Mercy student won national history competition

Mercy-Academy-Logo-wKennedy Yurt, a senior at Mercy Academy, won first place at the Kentucky state National History Day competition held April 30 in Lexington, Ky.

Yurt competed in the individual exhibit category and her project was named “The Encounter of Lacrosse by Native Americans: Sports vs. Spiritual Relevance.” She will represent Mercy Academy and the state at the national competition this summer in Washington, D.C.
