Memorial service to honor victims of African war, genocide

The Archdiocese of Louisville’s Office of Multicultural Ministry will host a “Memorial Service for Victims of Violence, War & Genocide in Africa” on April 21 at St. Thomas More Church, 6105 S. Third Street. Prelude music from community choirs will begin at 11:30 a.m. and the service itself will start at noon.

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz will be the special guest at the program, which is intended to commemorate the lives of the victims of violence, war and genocide in Africa through prayer and music. A reception will follow the service, which is an interfaith event.
