Flags were planted on the graves of veterans at Calvary Cemetery in observance of Memorial Day, May 27. The late Rudolph F. Klarer, whose headstone is pictured above, was killed in action near the end of World War II and was posthumously awarded the Silver Medal for gallantry in action, according to his headstone. A flag was also left for Father Earl J. Rausch, below, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, who died in 1974 as a pastor in Louisville. He served as a chaplain during World War II and the Korean War.
