Record Staff Report

The Honorable Romano L. Mazzoli has established a fund for the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville in memory of his late wife Helen, who died in 2012.

The Helen Dillon Mazzoli Memorial Fund is intended to support the ministries, needs and services of the Ursulines, who educated Helen Mazzoli.

“With donations from friends, family, classmates, colleagues and constituents, it is Ron’s hope that this fund, with the oversight by the Ursuline Sisters, will be sustainable well into the future,” according to an announcement from the Ursuline Sisters.

Helen Mazzoli graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1952 and Ursuline College in 1956. Following graduation, she taught Latin at Sacred Heart Academy from 1956 to 1960.

Former U.S. Rep. Mazzoli served 12 terms for Kentucky’s third congressional district, including Louisville and other parts of Jefferson County, in the U.S. House of Representatives from 1971 to 1995.

To contribute to the fund, designate a check for the Helen Dillon Mazzoli Memorial Fund and mail it to the Ursuline Sisters of Louisville, 3105 Lexington Road, Louisville, Ky., 40206.
