Matthew Kelly to hold mini-retreat at St. Patrick

Nationally-known Catholic evangelist and New York Times best-selling author Matthew Kelly will present a four-and-a-half hour retreat called “Living with Passion and Purpose” on Nov. 15.

The retreat will be held at St. Patrick Church, 1000 N. Beckley Station Road, and is being co-hosted by four additional parishes: St. Peter the Apostle, St. Albert the Great, St. Aloysius in Pewee Valley, and St. Margaret Mary.

Kelly will present a series of talks including “Hearing the Voice of God,” “The Jesus Question” and “Setting the World on Fire.” He will be joined by singer, songwriter and guitarist Eliot Morris.

The retreat will take place from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and according to Tim Grove, director of lifelong formation and education at St. Patrick Church, “is bargain priced at $39 per person.” Grove is also the local chairperson for the Matthew Kelly LIVE event.

Grove said the Nov.15 appearance is the only one Kelly will make in Kentucky, Indiana or Ohio this year. “And as only God’s grace would have it, Nov. 15 is the only ‘bye’ weekend in the University of Louisville’s fall football schedule,” Grove added. “God was smiling on us when we selected the retreat date four months before the Atlantic Coast Conference football schedule was announced.”

Weekend ticket sales for the Kelly appearance will begin at the host parishes June 28-29. Tickets will be available for purchase on weekdays thereafter through the five host parish offices. Only checks and credit cards will be accepted.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Dynamic Catholic website at https://dynamiccatholic.com/events/passion-and-purpose/ and click on the “get tickets” button.
