Letter from the archbishop — Collection for Catholic higher education

Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

May God bless you! This weekend, the annual collection for Catholic higher education will be conducted in all parishes of the Archdiocese. Bellarmine University, the Catholic University of America, and Spalding University will benefit from the proceeds of this collection.

These institutions strive to encourage persons of all ages to pursue academic excellence as they invite students to examine their values in the light of the Gospel and the common good. The ability to bring together faith and reason in Catholic colleges and universities is especially important as we seek to become missionary disciples who share the good news of Jesus Christ in today’s world.

I invite you to support this vital educational mission of our Church.

Your donations help to make a Catholic college education available to students who otherwise might not be able to attend.

Thank you for your generosity. You and your families are in my prayers.

Sincerely yours in our Lord,

Most Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D.

Archbishop of Louisville
