Kindergarten Countdown continues at various locations

kindergartencountdown-3.30.17-wKindergarten Countdown, a series of events for students entering kindergarten, will be hosted at various locations in Louisville.

Children entering kindergarten receive a free T-shirt, which serves as a ticket for the child and an adult.

On June 20 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., children with last names beginning with N-Z are invited to swim at the YMCA Northeast Calypso Cove water park, 9400 Mill Brook Road. The make-up day, in case it rains, is June 27.

On June 23 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. children are invited to see “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland” at the Commonwealth Theatre Center, 1123 Payne St. Additional tickets are $5 each. To reserve seats, contact the theater at boxoffice@commonwealththeatre.org.

On June 24 from 9 a.m. to noon, children may attend an interactive program with thoroughbreds to teach children about taking care of pets at the Kentucky Derby Museum, 704 Central Avenue. Additional tickets may be purchased.

Also on June 24 from 9 a.m. to noon, the main library, 301 York St.,will host a program sponsored by Passport, where children will learn about eating healthy foods and exercising.
