Interfaith revival to be held Aug. 11, 12

The Office of Multicultural Ministry will host an Interfaith Community-wide Revival Aug. 11 and 12.

The revival on Aug. 11 will take place at St. Martin de Porres Church, 3112 West Broadway and on Aug. 12 it will be held at St. Augustine Church, 1310 West Broadway. Both events will begin with a meal from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. with the services set to begin promptly at 6 p.m.

The overall theme of the revival is “Faith Engaged Family.” The focus of the first night is “Dry Bones in the Valley.” The second night will focus on “Lose to Win.”

The revivalist will be the Rev. Andrew C. Barnes from Columbia, S.C. The Rev. Barnes is pastor of Mount Hermon Baptist Church in Bishopville, S.C., and was named Minister of the Year by the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The Archdiocesan Gospel Choir will provide music at both services.

The revival is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Ministry and Christ the King, Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Augustine and St. Martin de Porres churches. For more information call OMM at 471-2146.
