Institute promotes young leaders

Seminarians in formation for the Archdiocese of Louisville, from left, Cole McDowell, Michael Schultz and Dustin Hungerford served hotdogs and burgers to high school students at the Christian Leadership Institute July 11. About two dozen high school students from around the Archdiocese of Louisville participated in the July 8-12 retreat at the Flaget Center, 1935 Lewiston Drive.

The institute, now in its 39th year, aims to equip young participants with leadership skills. Other guests who interacted with the students were Father Peter Do, pastor of St. John Paul II Church, Dominican Sister of Peace Terry Wasinger and Sister of Charity of Nazareth Judy Donohue. Below, from left, Ryan Markert, Ryan Lawson, Michael Massey and Anna Schickel took part in a game of ring toss. (Record Photos by Ruby Thomas)
