After sweeping the Kentucky state VEX IQ robotics championship in March, Holy Spirit School’s robotics team, composed of seventh- and eighth-graders, competed in the 2026 VEX Robotics World Championship in St. Louis April 26-28.

During the competition, students collaborated with teams from China, New Zealand, Colombia, Mexico and the United States in an engineering and problem-solving-based robotics competition.

The team finished 54th out of 83 teams in their division and 197th out of 416 teams overall. This is the school’s third consecutive year qualifying for the World Championship, according to a press release from the school.
