Holy Angels students win prayer contest

Several Holy Angels Academy students were winners in the 2016 Holy Cross Family Ministries “Try Prayer! It Works!” Contest. Close to 2,500 students took part in the 21st annual national competition, which encourages students to express their faith through art, poetry and prose, according to the organization’s website.

This year’s theme was “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers and sisters?”

The winners are: Mary Stockton, a junior, won first place for her artwork; Jessica Kramer, a seventh-grader, won first place for her artwork; Cecilia Norton, a sixth-grader, won second place for poetry; Bernadette Eidem, a fifth-grader, won second place for art and first-grader Annemarie Doane won third place for art.
