Holy Angels Academy students win prayer contest

Six Holy Angels Academy students were named winners in the “Try Prayer! It Works!” poetry and art contest sponsored by Family Rosary, a non-profit whose mission is to develop resources that help families pray, according to its website.

The winners are:

Kindergartener Edmund Sampedro won first place in the art contest.

Seventh-grader Jared Spalding won first place in the poetry contest.

In the ninth- and 10th-grade division, Ellen Hesselbrock won first for art and Jacob Bifone won first for poetry.

In the 11th- and 12th-grade division, Mary Eidem won first for art and Emily Kenney won first for poetry.

Each winner received $100 in prize money.
