Parishes and schools around Kentucky are planning to hold special Masses, devotions and adoration when the traveling Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe visits them. The image — a replica of the image that appeared on the cloak of St. Juan Diego in the 15th century — will be taken to parishes around the Archdiocese of Louisville during its tour of Kentucky this month and next.
It has already visited Bethlehem High School in Bardstown, Ky., and Holy Trinity Church in Fredericktown, Ky.
Following is a schedule of the remaining dates in the archdiocese:
Sept. 1 — 8:30 a.m. First Saturday Devotion Mass followed by the rosary at St. Albert the Great Church; noon at St. Martin of Tours Church, Louisville.
Sept. 4 — The image will leave St. Martin at 10 a.m. for a private home in Loretto, Ky. Those who wish to attend a prayer service from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. may call 270-699-5969. Later that evening, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., the image will be at Holy Cross Church in Holy Cross, Ky.
Sept. 5 — 9 a.m. Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Church in St. Francis, Ky., followed by adoration. Then, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Marion County Adjustment Center in St. Mary, Ky.
Sept. 6 — 8:45 a.m. Mass at St. Augustine Church in Lebanon, Ky.
Sept. 7 — 1:30 p.m. image will be taken to a side chapel at the Abbey of Gethsemani where it will stay open for prayer until 2 p.m. the next day.
Sept. 8 — 3 p.m. Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, Ky. At 7 p.m., a service will be followed by a talk about the image.
Sept. 9 — 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Nelson County High School.
Sept. 16 — 11 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Hodgenville, Ky. Then, 5 p.m. Mass and service at St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Ky.
Sept. 18 — St. Rose Church in Springfield, Ky. Call 859-336-3121 for times.

Sept. 21 — 8 a.m. children’s Mass followed by all-day veneration then 7 p.m. Mass and presentation in Spanish at St. Dominic Church, Springfield, Ky.
Sept. 22 — Immaculate Conception Church in Culvertown, Ky. Call 502-549-3680 for times.
Sept. 23 — Masses at the Cathedral of the Assumption at 9 a.m. and noon followed by veneration until 5:30 p.m. when Mass will be celebrated again.
