George Ritchie Sr. named Knights of St. John Supreme Knight of the Year

RecordLogo-FThe late George Ritchie Sr., a member of St. Lawrence Church who died on Feb. 4, was posthumously named the Supreme Knight of the Year by the Knights of St. John during the organization’s international convention held last month in Buffalo, N.Y.

Ritchie was a member of the Knights of St. John Commandery 103 and formerly served as the Knights of St. John’s Kentucky Grand President Brigadier General. The award honors his “dedicated loyalty and meritorious service for his 55 years of membership,” according to an announcement from his Commandery.

Anthony Tabler, Uniform President of Commandery 103 and Kentucky Grand Secretary, accepted the award on Ritchie’s behalf and plans to present it to the honoree’s widow, Phyllis.
