General Electric volunteers aid Boys & Girls Haven campus

More than 220 volunteers from General Electric’s Appliance Park spent June 8 renovating and revitalizing the campus of Father Maloney’s Boys and Girls Haven on Goldsmith Lane.

According to a news release from Boys & Girls Haven, the volunteers renovated the interior and exterior of the campus school, and repaired its barn and the fences that are part of the facility’s Equine Program. They also landscaped the grounds and built 11 picnic tables to be used by the young people served by the facility.

“This represents the height of community collaboration,” said Boys & Girls Haven CEO Jeff Hadley. “We have an international company in GE setting their sights on helping our community’s most vulnerable kids and dedicating their resources to bettering their lives and helping to provide them with an environment geared for success.”
