Five Sisters of Charity of Nazareth have jubilee years

 

SCNjubilarians-8.7.14-wThe Sisters of Charity of Nazareth held a celebration last month to honor five sisters celebrating golden jubilees. The sisters honored were:

Sister Bridgid Clifford taught at St. Augustine, St. Gabriel and Holy Name schools. She also served at Spalding College and as vice president of the SCN congregation from 1993 to 1998.

Sister Rochelle Marie Ernst is a native of Louisville and attended Holy Trinity Church. She served in education in Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, Arkansas and Kentucky. In the Archdiocese of Louisville, she taught at St. Gabriel and St. Albert the Great schools. She also served as a director of religious education at numerous parishes for more than a quarter of a century.

Sister Charlene Jacobs served as a teacher at St. Martha and St. Agnes schools. She also taught for more than 20 years at St. Joseph School in Bardstown, Ky. She is currently the Motherhouse coordinator at Nazareth, Ky.

Sister Rosemarie Chase has served in pastoral administration, community service and elementary and secondary education. In 1972, she was one of the founding members of NETWORK in Washington, D.C.

Sister Maureen Daugherty taught religion, Latin and French at schools in Maryland, Indiana, Alabama and Kentucky. She also served at Catholic Charities of Louisville. She was the editor of the SCNews from 1982 to 1986. From 1989 to 2009 she was in ministry at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
